Who are We?

Kuala Lumpur Chinese Methodist Church

Kuala Lumpur Chinese Methodist Church is strategically located in the heart of Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur — at the crossroads of politics, economics, and culture — and holds a unique spiritual significance. Since its establishment in 1897 by missionary Dr. Kensette, the church has grown steadily by God’s grace, becoming a light in the city and faithfully proclaiming truth while shepherding the community.

For more than a century, Kuala Lumpur Chinese Methodist Church has been rooted in the community, responding to the call of the times and continually expanding the boundaries of the Gospel. The church has planted several preaching points, many of which have since grown into independent churches, witnessing God’s expansion and renewal. Today, the churches under KLCMC include: Miharja Chinese Methodist , Serendah Chinese Methodist Chapel , and Cameron Highlands Chinese Methodist Chapel.

Today, we continue to connect generations, carry the vision of God’s Kingdom, and faithfully serve as Christ’s witnesses in the city, bringing lasting blessings and influence to the nation and the world.

Miharja Chinese Methodist

Miharja Chinese Methodist was formerly known as KL Methodist Vineyard and was established on 1 July 2007. In its early stage, the ministry focused on serving senior citizens and underprivileged families. As the community demographics changed, the church began seeking new ministry breakthroughs. In 2015, God led the church to “step out in faith” and expand the ministry work to Miharja, focusing mainly on the Chinese-speaking community. Miharja Methodist Vineyard was officially launched on 6 March 2016, continuing to witness God’s guidance and blessings in the new community.

Serendah Chinese Methodist Chapel

Serendah Chinese Methodist Chapel was officially established on November 1, 2008. Seeing the needs of the local community and the absence of a Methodist preaching center in the area, the church began ministry work and invited local youths and residents to participate. In the early years, gatherings and activities were held in a rented tuition center. Despite limitations in space and time, the church remained committed to serving the community and nurturing spiritual growth.

In 2009, through the efforts of Pastor Choo Sin Hua, the Vineyard moved to its current location. The church also started adult classes, prayer meetings, and children’s Sunday School, strengthening its connection with the community. Address 21&23, Jalan Klambang 1A, Desa Kiambang, 48200 Serendah, Selangor.

Cameron Highlands Chinese Methodist Chapel

Cameron Highlands Chinese Methodist Chapel is the 10th daughter church established by KLCMC. Located in Brinchang, about 120 km from Kuala Lumpur, it is also the furthest among the three chapel.

In the early years, pastors, co-workers, and church members faithfully traveled up and down Cameron Highlands every week despite the challenges. In 2018, the church moved into a shoplot purchased at Tanah Rata. The first family nurtured through the Vineyard was Brother Hew Wei Khan’s family of four. Today, they continue to serve faithfully in the preaching center, while his wife has been called into ministry and is pursuing theological studies alongside her service.
